Tried this out during my trip in Singapore. LOVED IT!

I attended FHM2013 today to help out at a booth and had the most amazing experience of discovering these special sweet treats. Presented like ice-cream, if you glanced by you would marvel and wonder how in the world are they displaying ice-cream like that without the fear of it melting and making a mess.

They don’t have to worry. It’s actually mashed potatoes.

What is this madness, I thought to myself. What has this world come to. They offered me a sample. I tried the chocolate mash potato and as it filled my mouth I thought…

HOW?!

It tasted good, like for a moment you would believe it could be warm ice-cream, but that texture of it definitely being mash potatoes confused me. How. HOW IN THE WORLD IS THIS POSSIBLE.

… I would recommend trying it. It’s seriously fascinating though I think even eating more of the sample would make me sick from confusion.

Trying to get myself to eat breakfast as I’m the type to always skip out on it. My throat feels pretty bad so I made tea mixed with honey and buttered toast. But I also decided to experiment and make tamagoyaki after learning a simple trick to ensure a smoother texture from the egg.

Even so, I still fail cause I forgot to re-oil the pan, thus some of the layers appearing burnt, and sometimes the egg layer is too thick, then too thin.

But you know what I like? Edible mistakes. And I was quite okay with this one. It’s still yummy and simple to make.

So this video started going around my facebook today, with about a dozen of my female friends sharing the link with comments like, and “Everyone needs to see this”, and “All girls should watch this,” and “This made me cry.” And I’m not trying to shame those girls! I definitely understand why they would do so. And I don’t want to be a killjoy. But as I clicked the link and started watching the video, I started to feel a slight sense of discomfort. I couldn’t put my finger on why that was, exactly, but it continued throughout the whole thing. After watching the video several more times, I have some thoughts…
